AUMSU was founded in September 1975 as Novorossiysk Higher Engineering Marine College with 3 specialties: Navigation, Marine engineering and Technical operation of transport radio equipment. In 1992 its status was changed to the Maritime Academy which in 2005 was converted into Admiral Ushakov Maritime State Academy. In 2012 our Academy was transformed into Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University. Now we prepare graduates in 26 specialties. The AUMSU Managernent Quality System Certificate of Relevance was issued by the Certification Systems of Det Norske Veritas, Russian Register and by the Federal Agency on inspection in the sphere of education and science.
The main mission of the AUMSU is training marine transport specialists and solving applied objectives of the industry.
Academic direction of AUMSU is presented by:
- Faculty of water transport operation and navigation;
- Marine engineering faculty;
- Institute of sea transport managements, economics and law;
- Institute of up-grading;
- Faculty of external education;
- Navy faculty.
Branches: in Rostov (RF) and Sevastopol (Ukraine)
Training of specialists in 26 study directions (specialties) perform 35 departments with 34 professors, doctors of sciences, and more than 200 docents, candidates of sciences. At AUMSU about 40 thousand specialists of maritime industry annually up-grade their qualification in more than 200 directions of training.
AUMSU has 7 laboratories and 2 training centers. Cost of annual turnover of research work amounts to one million of USA dollars. There are courses for post graduate training and doctor training in 9 directions.
